New Comics - June 24, 2009

So many comic books this week. Among the horde of releases are my two favorite titles. Thor #602 finally makes its release. This bi-monthly series is fantastic and #601 left us with the Asgardians moving to Latveria. What dealings to Loki and Doom have and what will happen in Latveria? Also, Loki told Thor that Lady Sif is still alive, so you know he's going to do some investigating.

My other favorite title is Green Lantern. #42 will be the end of the Agent Orange arc. I love Larfleeze and the Orange Ring. His avarice knows no bounds and his use of power is ingenious. The secret behind the Orange Light is supposed to be revealed and I look forward to seeing how it relates to the rest of the Corps.

Ok, now take a deep breath. There are about 10 other interesting books coming out this week. Ready?

Amazing Spider-Man #598 continues Joe Kelly's stellar American Son story.
Daredevil #110 is the penultimate issue to Return of the King, about Kingpin's return to Daredevil's life.
Dark Avengers #6 should finally show the Avengers act up and cause some trouble.
Dark Avnegers/Uncanny X-Men Utopia will start their crossover about building a new dark X-Men team with Emma Frost.
Ms. Marvel #40 will continue Moonstone's run on the series and build on her relationship with baby MODOK.
New Avengers #54 finishes the new Sorcerer Supreme story arc.
Secret Warriors #5 finishes the series' first arc about Hydra secretly controlling SHIELD.
Thunderbolts #133 starts a new plot where the team targets Songbird.
Uncanny X-Men #512 will examine the origins of the mutant species.
X-Factor #45 promises to reveal the importance of Cortex.
X-Force #16 brings a conclusion to the Messiah War crossover.
Detective Comis #854 begins Batwoman's run on the series.
Gotham City Sirens #1 should satiate anyone's fixation on bad girl villains (or "ass-fixation" judging from the cover).

Whew!!!

We're not done yet though. Another book I am really excited about is Runaways #11. Last issue was amazing and reminded me of the good ol' days of the comic. One of the less-than-amazing artists from that issue returns along with new writer, Kathryn Immonen. My trust in the series was revitalized last month and I very much look forward to this issue.
