Deadline Hollywood Daily broke the news that Tom Hiddleston has been cast to play Loki in the upcoming Thor movie. He's an award winning British actor and has worked with director, Kenneth Branagh, before. I've never heard of him, but I give Marvel the benefit of the doubt. If they like him, then I like him.
I like the fact that Branagh chose a British actor to play Loki. Loki always came off of as a sophisticated kind of arrogant. British accents fit that perception pretty well.
Hiddleston seems to have a creepy, lanky look to him. That's good. Loki isn't overbearing physically. He's a tall scrawny guy.
Thor is slated May 20, 2001. Marvel's press release can be seen here.

I was sort of looking forward to having Josh Hartnet, but I will give this guy a shot. He looks like he could be a trickster.
