War of Kings #4 gets the coveted priority spot in my preview this week. The fourth part of Vulcan's war against Black Bolt should contain some major teasers toward the final battle. At the end of the last issue, Gladiator finally turns his back on Vulcan and joins Lilandra. Does this also mean he'll be teaming with Black Bolt or fighting the leader of the Inhumans and Kree? Black Bolt seems to be having other problems as well, realizing that his people might not be as happy with him as he's used to. To top it all off, I've read he might also be getting in on the fighting in this issue.
Some other major books tomorrow are Amazing Spider-Man #596, Dark Avengers #5, Mighty Avengers #25, and New Avengers: The Reunion #4. The American Son story will be continuing in Spider-Man. Will Harry really join the Dark Avengers and what's with the baby? Dark Avengers will be entering a new story arc. In Mighty Avengers, Hank Pym has his team invading the Baxter Building. I wonder if Loki, my favorite villain, has something to do with this. And finally, The Reunion will be concluding this week. How will the state of Hawkeye and Mockingbird's relationship end up. If you're a fan of Mockingbird or want to get to know her character, you should definitely pick this book up.
Some other major titles coming out are Ultimatum #4 and Ultimate Spider-Man #133. Ultimatum is the event that's reshaping the Ultimate Universe. The book is not good at all, though. Most of it is just silly nonsense. Ultimate Spider-Man #133 is the last issue of this volume. It'll be a landmark issue. Don't worry though. Another iteration of Ultimate Spider-Man is due to launch sometime.
On the DC side, the first issue of the new Batman and Robin series will be shipping. This is written by Grant Morrision and supposed to be the sequel to his run on Batman RIP. Also, many of the threads left open in Battle for the Cowl are to be picked up in this ongoing series.
See how the title of this post actually has two dates? Well Marvel had a press release last week stating that Captain America #600 will be shipping Monday, June 8 instead of its original release date of June 17. Apparently they wanted to celebrate this landmark issue with a landmark release. This issue is supposed to be a look back at Cap's life and the beginning of another evil scheme storyline. There will also be tons of bonus features, such as extra stories and a display of all 600 covers.
