Green Lantern's big event is coming this summer and I couldn't be more excited. Geoff Johns has been building towards Blackest Night since he started Green Lantern in Rebirth. Each battle fought, each debate argued, and each law rewritten has led to the birth of the darkest of all the Lanterns.
Blackest Night's premise is that the dead of the universe will rise with the power of a lantern ring. Whereas the other seven lanterns got their powers from the emotional spectrum, Black Lanterns get their power from death. Presumably, this will make them immensely stronger, because Lantern prophecy says the seven lanterns must join forces to defeat this new, dangerous foe.
The main reason I am looking forward to Blackest Night is so the Guardians can get pwn'd. Ganthet and Sayd have been telling those ignorant jerks that this day was coming and the Guardians have dismissed them despite the mountain of evidence supporting their case. Well I hope some Black Lanterns stick it to those guys good.
As I said earlier, the Black Lanterns consist of dead DC heroes and villains. IGN has been steadily leaking information on who some of those lanterns might be. So far, it seems Black Hand, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and, most recently, Ronnie Raymond. Check out some of the images below and go find Blackest Night #0, released on Free Comic Book Day, to help pump you up for this summmer.

I am excited about this event as well. I am hoping it will be at least as good as Sinestro Corps.

Yeah Sinestro Corps War was awesome. This one could only be better because it involves every type of Lantern. And maybe Superman Prime won't be in it.
